After UWC, Sam went to Mount Holyoke College, USA and graduated in 2006 with a double major in Film and Religion. She’s written four books, including The Mahabharata -- A Child’s VIew and the New York Times Bestselling graphic novel, Sita’s Ramayana. Her latest book -- The Prince -- won the 2020 Neev Book Award, and was co-editor of the Out of Print issue on Sexual and Gender Violence which went on to win a Laadli/ UN Population First award for Gender Sensitivity. In 2012, Sam went to Kabul where she worked as a head scriptwriter on a TV series for an Afghan TV channel. She currently lives in Bangalore, India and loves spending her free time with her two cats, and is also studying for a certification in psychotherapy.
