Post UWC, Namgyal did her undergraduate studies at Colorado College in the US where she majored in Mathematical Economics. She then got into the postgraduate program at the Delhi School of Economics for a Master’s degree in Economics. This was followed by a two-year stint as a Business Analyst at Citigroup India in Bengaluru, but she quit in 2018 to finally pursue preparation for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission of India. Namgyal recalls this as probably one of the most stressful phases of her life, but it paid off, and she cleared the exam in 2020, getting allotted the Indian Administrative Service and the AGMUT Cadre. After having spent several months in training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, she is currently undergoing district training in her own hometown Leh in Ladakh.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching Netflix and spending time with her family. Namgyal enjoys running and trying her hand at photography as she has the opportunity to travel to the remote and picturesque pockets of Ladakh!
